Sep 2014 Belper Acupuncture Centre - Peak District - Belper, Derbyshire Jan 2014As a result of this, Nigel made a radical career change, a few months later enrolling on a full time, three year, professional training course at the College Of Traditional Acupuncture (CTA), where he attained a Licentiate in Acupuncture, First Class BA(Hons) Degree in Traditional Acupuncture in association with Oxford Brookes University, and membership with the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC). After establishing his clinic in 2010, successfully growing his practice and skill base, Nigel subsequently became a regional clinical supervisor for the Acupuncture Academy.

Nigel Cowey - Sep 2014 - Acupuncture, Zero Balancing, Remedial Massage Jan 2014In 2004 Nigel was introduced to a form of structural acupressure called Zero Balancing. His fascination with this unique system of energy-body work has lead to further post graduate study and subsequent qualification as a Certified Zero Balancer in 2011.

Nigel’s original interest in the integration of mind, body & spirit began in the early 90′s whilst studying a martial art called Goya Ra Ru, founded by Guru Ustad B.S. Dhaliwal (now known as Tetsudo). In 2002 Nigel obtained a black belt in the Japanese martial art of Ju-Jitsu, and in 2004 he began studying the Chinese Martial Arts of Qi Gong, Tai Chi Chuan, and Bagua Zhang, under the guidance of Raymond Towers founder of the UK Taiji Foundation (UKTQF). These wonderful systems of training stimulated an interest in the internal, and healing applications of the Arts, which beautifully complement the development of his Acupuncture & Zero Balancing skills.

Belper - Massage - Sep 2014Outside the therapeutic world Nigel has played the acoustic guitar for over 25 years and has recently recorded a couple of his songs utube link  . He also enjoys walking, gardening, dry stone walling, bracelet making and playing the piano.  A love of nature and interest in photography deepen his understanding of the Five Element System.

Nigel founded, and practices from Belper Acupuncture Centre. He resides in Milford with his dear partner Jo.
