N.I.C.E. Guidelines – Acupuncture & Lower Back Pain

In 2009, the National Institute for Health & Clinical Excellence (NICE) recommended that acupuncture should be made available on the NHS, as a cost effective short term treatment for the management of early, persistent, nonspecific lower back pain.

NICE guidelines on best practice recommend that GPs offer a course of 10 sessions of acupuncture as a first line treatment for persistent, non-specific low back pain.
